Whisperwood June 2024 - Guest Fishing Tournament
June 6th to June 8th

Congratulations to Champions Norm(2) Largemouth bass division (now a multiple winner) and Frank Smallmouth bass division for winning the 34th Whisperwood Lodge & Cottages Guest Bass Fishing tournament.

Final Results:
Largemouth Bass division: 21 inches (Norm)
Smallmouth Bass division:  17 inches (Frank)

Day 1: Thursday June 6th - With the forecast of rain the opening day of Whisperwood's 34th guest fishing tournament, the Whisperwood anglers were suspect of the amount of fishing time today. As happens so often the weather people got it completely wrong and today was dry, cloudy with light winds and actually an excellent fishing day. Whisperwood's Mike got things moving quickly with plenty of bass to show for today's effort and posted a 16.5 inch smallmouth bass and 19.25 inch largemouth bass. This is a good start but history shows these early leads usually are surpassed quickly. Rain is once again forecasted for tomorrow but we shall see how this tournament day plays out.

Day 2: Friday June 7th - Consistent showers were the order of the day for the Whipserwood anglers today however between the raindrops plenty of good sized bass were caught. As usual the early lead was quickly overcome by Frank's 17 inch smallmouth bass. Troy's 20 inch largemouth bass didn't have much time to enjoy the lead because Norm posted a 21 inch largemouth to take over the lead after the 2nd day.
Even though the weather is definitely a factor, once again the skilled Whisperwood Guest anglers are up to the task. Plenty of 18 and 19 inch largemouth bass caught by multiple anglers along with a good quantity of smallmouth bass, as usual the chances are the leads will change again before the tournament ends Saturday evening at 8pm.

Day 3: Friday June 8th - Another day of inconsistent weather with showers, thunder, lightning, strong winds framed around some nice clear, calm time as well. The Whisperwood anglers were not deterred and continued with their excellent fish catching ways. Plenty of 3 and 4 pound bass caught and an incredible amount of 19 inch 4 pound bass caught this year - certainly bodes well for the future of healthy bass at Whisperwood.
There were no changes in the lead today and all of us at Whisperwood sincerely thank the many anglers participating in the June Bass Tournament event.
